Important information regarding GSLT for CS:GO2015-11-16 23:11

Valve have recently released an update to CS:GO  that will affect all CS:GO servers. The update forces each CS:GO server to have a unique key, also called Gameserver Login Token (GSLT) that will be registered to your server to make it connectable and visible in the server list. Below is a short guide on how you can add a GSLT token to your server.

1. Check criteria
Begin with logging in on http://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and verify that your account lives up to below criteria

* Your Steam account must not be currently community banned or locked.
* Your Steam account must not be limited.
* Your Steam account must have a qualifying registered phone.
* Your Steam account must own the game for which you are creating a game server account.
* Your Steam account may create 1000 game server accounts.

2. Choose game and description
Enter 730 in the field APPID and also enter a short description in the MEMO field so you remember which server has which token.

3. Transfer the new token to the control panel
Copy the key that has now been generated and enter it under Control Panel -> Settings -> GSLT key. Save the settings and restart the server.

4. Verify
Go to Serverlog on the control panel and verify that you see the following log message as shown below. If below message is not shown you can contact our support and we will assist you.

Logging into Steam gameserver account with logon token 'XXXX'
Connection to Steam servers successful.
Public IP is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Assigned persistent gameserver Steam ID [XXXX].

We are sorry that this creates one extra action needed by our customers to get their server visible, but we have our hands tied as this is a decision made by Valve to gain a better control over servers. On a positive note, this add the function of having your server kept in all players favourites even if it would change the IP address. All this is extra important for our customers that have a public server as the server will no longer be visible in the server list until it has a GSLT token connected to it.

This will soon be a requirement for all types of CS:GO servers as players will no longer be able to connect to the server if a GSLT token is missing. We will update you as soon as Valve pushes towards the next stage and this becomes a reality, as it will be important that even warservers have a token in order to be connectable.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this update you may contact support to get some help. But regarding the information about why Valve chose to make this happen we direct you to google about it as there is so far no official information from Valve at all about this other than a public mailing list that anyone can subscribe to.
